Adobe Commerce Gartner names Adobe Commerce a leader in Digital Commerce Last updated on October 14th, 2022 As an Adobe Commerce agency, we are big fans of the platform. The reach and the strength of its partner and vendor community. Its comprehensive out-of-the-box functionality for medium-to-enterprise merchants. The endless customization to bring about any customer experience. And the intuitive UI allows merchants to make their shops work for their customers. This is why we’re not surprised to see Gartner naming Adobe Commerce a leader in Digital Commerce, alongside Salesforce, commercetools and SAP. Adobe Commerce is a leader in Digital Commerce in 2022. About Gartner’s Digital Commerce report Gartner evaluated 17 of the available digital commerce platforms, defined as technology facilitating purchases of goods and services via a self-service experience. For the platform to be considered, they need to offer an interactive commerce experience (either out of the box or through API integration). It has to offer a storefront, product catalogue navigation, product pages (PDPs), shopping basket, checkout and customer account area. It must also include search functionality, an order management system and customer and product data management. Gartner evaluates all vendors based on two key factors: “completeness of vision”, and “ability to execute”. Completeness of vision is based on the understanding of the needs in the market. But also a matching product strategy and the innovation to build the features the market needs. Outside of Leaders, Oracle was deemed to have a similar level of completeness of vision. Ability to execute weighs on the breadth of functionality, overall viability, market responsiveness, and overall customer experience. Outside of Leaders, a company that demonstrates great ability to execute is Shopify. They are firmly positioned to dominate the SME and start-up market with its easy-to-use and out-of-the-box functionality. Adobe Commerce is a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant. Adobe is a Leader in the Gartner report, and also a popular one. It has a presence in all geographies and sectors. It does particularly well with mid-market to enterprise companies at $50m annual gross merchandise value (GMV). Midsize companies such as Tommee Tippee, Skatehut and Krispy Kreme love the endless customisation and strong out-of-the-box functionality such as CMS and PWA Studio. In turn, larger companies enjoy the wider set of features available in the Adobe suite for customer acquisition and data analytics.
