GENE has made an exciting addition to the team with your appointment as CTO. Can you share some highlights of your previous experience and expertise in the e-commerce and technology space? I’m thrilled to be part of GENE as the new CTO, bringing a decade in e-commerce and a lifetime in software development to this exciting opportunity. Over the last 11 years in Ecommerce, I’ve moved from Project Lead to Technical Director, driving tech innovation, leading the creation of scalable e-commerce solutions, and optimising digital platforms for peak performance. I have worked on a wide range of projects but my major focus has always been on Magento. Working across diverse industries, I’ve explored a multitude of tech platforms. Steering some fantastic tech teams, it’s been a joy to foster their growth and progression. And now the journey continues, and I’m eager to contribute to GENE’s success and innovation. I’m super excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead! As the newly appointed CTO, what is your vision for the technological evolution of GENE? Are there specific areas or technologies you plan to focus on? My vision revolves around leveraging GENE’s well-established team and renowned experience in the e-commerce world to propel us even further forward. First things first, we’re doubling down on innovation. GENE has a legacy of staying ahead of industry trends, and we’re not about to let that slip. Expect us to be at the forefront of what’s next in e-commerce tech. One specific area we’ll be diving deep into is the checkout experience. We’re all about making it seamless, smooth, and downright enjoyable for our users. Expect some serious enhancements in that area to transform the overall customer journey.We’re also excited to expand on our partnership with Adobe. Following the recent Commerce Specialism, we’re levelling up a number of integrations using App Builder – which has got huge potential! In a nutshell, my vision is to blend GENE’s solid foundation with a hefty dose of innovation; focusing on the Adobe ecosystem, refining the checkout experience and unleashing exciting new launches that will make waves in e-commerce. Looking ahead, what trends and advancements do you anticipate shaping the e-commerce landscape in 2024? How does GENE plan to stay at the forefront of these changes and continue providing cutting-edge solutions for its clients?
